Today is a 76 mile ride to Live Oak. Unfortunately, we experienced some inclement weather in Tallahassee. Ironically, last night Bubba handed out black t-shirts that say we survived coast 2 coast with strong winds, steep hills, heavy rain, sleet, hail, snow and freezing temperatures. What it doesn't mention is we also survived two tornado warnings (Dauphin Island & Tallahassee). Adrian also survived a close call with a motorist driving on the shoulder at 55 mph, but luckily saw the car coming and went into the ditch.
Looks like a great day for cycling in Tallahassee.
Oh and then this... Tornado warning, take shelter now.
Radar feed at 8:17am EST. On the bright side, we are expecting a 25 mph west tailwind after the storm front passes later in the morning. Go figure this would be the day for a tailwind.
Tomorrow we cycle 80 miles to Gainesville. We arrive in St Augustine on Monday where it will be 77 degrees and sunny.

I'm going to take a guess and say that Henry had a great tailwind riding after the storm passed. I checked local radar and about the time we were getting hammered, it looked like the storm had passed by you. So glad that the tornado missed your group's lodging location! I have thoroughly enjoyed following your blog this year. I hope that someday we all get to ride together once again!
ReplyDeleteStrong south crosswind. The weather looks great for the rest of the trip.
