Day 50 - Live Oak to Gainesville

It is ironic the last long ride has turned out to be the best on the tour.   The 81 mile ride featured a 21 mph wind out of the west with two thirds of the ride heading south and one third east.  We had wonderful biking temperatures that started in the mid 50s and ended in the low 70s.  The true highlight of the day was visiting old C2C friends in Gainesville.  More on that later.

At the final full SAG stop of the trip, Henry is ready to eat a naked banana with peanut butter.  His favorite snack on C2C.

An example of the beautiful roads and riding conditions on day 50.

Ray & Elaine from 2018 Coast 2 Coast visited us for the afternoon and evening.  We enjoyed craft beer and a tasty pan Asian dinner.

After dinner, Henry made a trip to buy a bunch of Cheez-it crackers.  In all seriousness, the bag of ice on top is likely a tipoff that the contents in the box are likely headed for the Yetti.

After dinner, we were surprised and delighted to see Chandler.  He was the Van Gogh of beer and C2C mechanic in 2018.

It was great catching up with old friends again and we had a wonderful time in Gainesville.  Tommorow we cycle 52 miles to Palatka.  Just one more day to go!!
