Day 46 - Milton to DeFuniak Springs

54 miles, sunny & 80 degrees with great roads! Just one problem, another east headwind.  Colonel John Schafer more aptly named "Flatman" may have set a new course record with his 15th flat tire.  This one happened when he wasn't even on the bike and ordering lunch.

This evening was the highlight of the day! Residents at the Sunset King RV Resort in DeFuniak Springs prepared an amazing dinner and homemade pies.  Thank you for making this a special evening for all of us!

Their is a buzz and anticipation this evening among the coasters at the Sunset King RV Resort. It appears that senior citizens who have historically made an amazing dinner and breakfast for the coasters are upping their game this year.  The riders arrived to find the pamper zone chairs set up in a concert venue to showcase the singing talent of these seniors.

Most peoples knowledge of Florida is based on Orlando and Miami that are pancake flat, but come up to the panhandle and you will find nice rolling hills.

Future coasters need to visit Casbah Coffee Company.  Best coffee shop on the tour so far.

This was the sign at the entrance for dinner. Precisely why we 🚴🚴 coast 2 coast.

All is good now, but storms appear to be brewing on the horizon.

  1. San Antonio, FL area also has many steep hills. In November there is a Horrible
Hundred ride that covers all of these hills.
