Today we reached our final state - Florida!! Beautiful weather and an enjoyable ride to Pensacola. Having a 20 mph tailwind was an added bonus!
The morning started off a bit more ominous though... The horn went off around 3:30am. Luckily the tornado was further north. Some impressive rain and lightning. The storm passed at 5:30am, but the winds were picking up!!
The 4th time in ten years Captain Dennis is making but one ferry trip. Just so the Coasters can get off Dauphin Island. Winds are strong enough that normally the ferry would not be operating. Thank you Captain Dennis!
Captain Dave, Clarence, Adrian, Ken & Rudy are seen on the ferry.
Strong winds and rip tide warnings were common along the coast today. The key for us was an amazing 20 mph west tailwind!
The Alabama coastline approaching Florida is referred to as the the Redneck Rivera. That being said the beaches are very nice.
Adrian & Henry are about to enjoy fresh oysters at the famous Flora-Bama beach bar for lunch.
At Flora-Bama many bras have been left behind over the years. We are talking a lot of bras!
Adrian is seen reaching up to this pink bra that particularly caught his attention with the comments and hearts on it.
Rose enjoying a bushwacker at Flora-Bama.
Jim, Rose, Terry, Bob, Toph, Rudy & Adrian are feasting on even more fresh oysters and shrimp at Flora-Bama. A wonderful beach bar, food and atmosphere.
We ended the ride in Pensacola visiting the World of Beers. Great place and craft beer selection downtown.
