It took 39 days....but our 86 mile ride today was the best of the tour. The weather was perfect as we left St. Francisville with a light fog blanketing the area. Within a couple of hours the glorious sun came out. Most importantly, for the first time in quite awhile the letter W was in the wind direction. One of the riders commented, if Bubba is going to take credit for today he has to accept responsibility for the 38 crappy days before this - lol.
Route 10 across Louisiana is one of the most beautiful rides on the C2C trip. It is also one of the most deceptive. Henry discovered this today when his electronic shifting Di2 battery was dead. So he had to single speed through almost 3,000 feet of climbing over the 86 mile ride. He vowed tonight he will never let that battery go dead again.
The riders are able to tell when it has been a pretty easy day for the Wolfpack when the ladies are already lying on fully inflated mattresses and texting their bffs when the riders arrive.
Tommorow we cycle to Mississippi, our sixth state.

Love the picture of that glorious tree!
