Day 34 - Sheperd to Silsbee

The Texas weather gods reared their ugly heads on our final full day in Texas.  In the last few days we have endured strong heads winds, freezing temperatures with ice on our tents.  Today it was 80, but with heavy rain from the gulf.  We have spent 18 days in Texas and have cycled over 1,000 miles.  The GREAT news is we will kiss Texas goodbye in the morning and only have 1,057 miles remaining until we reach St. Augustine, FL.

On a night when we were suppose to be tent camping, Bubba found a gym for us to stay in for the evening.  This allowed the riders to chill upon arriving.  As one of the first riders in Henry choose one of the prime spaces and promptly spread his stuff out in all directions.

This photo encapsulates the riders challenges as we leave Texas and head into cajun and lumber country.  Already in east Texas we are picking up these screaming bandits flying by at the state posted speed limit of 75 mph.

At the first SAG stop Adrian found the motherload of beer and was able to break into the fortified vault and give a thumbs up on what's inside.

Also at the first SAG stop Sherry, Johanne & Timi Jo seem to be in great spirits despite the rainy conditions.

Adrian stopped at Morina's for the second year to get his hair cut. What a fun experience.  Morina the owner and lovely lady to the right cut what little hair I have left.

Texas Dave is seen at our electronics charging station.  Most of us have 5 to 7 devices we charge after each ride like front & rear lights, GPS, speakers, phone and battery packs.

In celebration of the last night in Texas the riders are making their way towards the Texas Honky Tonk Bar.  A good time was had by all and we look forward to more fun adventures in Louisiana and beyond.
