Day 30 can be summed up in two words; wind & wildflowers. The Texas bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush were everywhere and it was splendid! While we only cycled 60 miles, it was nevertheless a challenging ride with 2,200 feet of climbing and 15 to 20 mph north quartering headwinds. Tommorow we have another challenging 89 mile ride with 3,200 feet of climbing.
Waves of Indian Paintbrush were seen enroute to La Grange. Texas is estimated to have 300 million monarchs headed their way because of the major wildflower bloom.
Back to our daily reality!! As usual, wind was a factor today. So much so that the witch ...
... was blown into the telephone pole along our route.
Spectacular fields of Indian Paintbrush and ...
... Bluebonnets were abound. The authors completed this ride last year and the wildflower bloom this year is epic!

As we pulled into La Grange we saw another beautiful Texas courthouse.
We close today highlighting "La Grange" the hit song from ZZ Top, from their 1973 album Tres Hombres.
Cheers from Adrian & Henry.

Trivia question of the day: what Michael J. Fox movie did ZZ Top have a cameo appearance?
ReplyDeleteHi Gary. I think that might be Back To The Future III. Adrian
