Day 29 - Blanco to Lockhart

It's a three-peat!!!  Our third day in the Texas Hill country was as much fun as our first two.  We left our very nice overnight campsite at Blanco State Park and were off to sample some of the culinary treasures in the Texas Hill country.

Along the route, Adrian is seen giving a big hug and a soft kiss to a chicken.  I think he misses his wife!

More Texas hills!  Otto from Germany is seen screaming down the hill.

Bluebonnets were common along the route today.

So was Indian Paintbrush.  The Texas Hill country wildflowers were in full bloom.

We finally hit the motherload of Blacks in Lockhart, Texas.  You order by weight and while we were there we saw people order between a half to two pounds of brisquit.

Blacks is a meat lovers paradise!!  As noted yesterday, we have been feasting on BBQ and brisquit & love it!!  Good thing we are cycling to burn off all of those calories.

Another beautiful Courthouse in Lockhart, Texas.

Tommorow we cycle to La Grange, Texas.  "La Grange" was a hit song from ZZ Top, from their 1973 album Tres Hombres.  We will be playing ZZ top loudly on our bluetooth speakers as we approach La Grange tomorrow.

Cheers - Adrian & Henry

  1. I'm glad that you enjoyed Black's. There is also one in Austin that I have frequented with my kids. So glad that we opted for Smitty's last year so that Charlotte and I could meet ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons.
