The past two days we climbed 7,500 feet. Coming from a cold weather climate with limited cycling opportunities, Henry and I had no problem climbing the mountain.
Then we descended into Pine Valley where the weather was cool and wet again! Future coasters need to check out Major's Coffee Shop. Excellent diner with great food, coffee and shakes!!!
As we aproached the final mountain pass on our 4,500 foot climb, the sun came out again.
Meet the Wolfpack ladies. The Wolfpack delivers our luggage, sets up our tents and makes sure the pamper zone is ready for appetizers and beverages.

Here was our route to Jacumba Hot Springs area near the US and Mexico border.
On day 3, we will descend 15 miles down the mountain into the Yuha desert where the temperature will be nearly 80 degrees. Can't wait !!
When we started cycling in the morning, the weather was cool with light rain.
We cycled on Interstate 8 climbing the mountain for five miles east of Alpine.
Then as we approached the top of the mountain we saw a beautiful rainbow.
