Day 11 - East Tucson to Tombstone

One of the most difficult rides we have ever done. 73 miles, low to 40s, cold rain, 3,750 feet of climbing and a brisk headwind most of the day.

This is a cold, wet and windblown Henry at the end of the ride.  It was even admitted by Bubba that this was one of most difficult coast 2 coast days in memory.

It was so cold and wet that Adrian resorted to using a heater on the table to dry out his bike shoes during lunch.

Riders were pelted by driving rain, frigid temperatures and high winds and snow falling on surrounding tops as we climbed over a mile high pass

A hightlight of the day was staying at the beautiful Landmark Lookout Lodge in Tombstone.  Here is the view from our hotel room.

Once in the comfortable confines of the hotel the authors enjoyed two nationally acclaimed beers, including Pliny the Eldar widely considered to be the greatest IPA ever made.

Most visitors to Tombstone condider the gunfight at O.K. Corral the highlight of their time in town.  But educated and savy travelers know the highlight is the DIPA at Tombstone Brewery.  So the authors quickly made their way to the brewey to enjoy a beer and restock the Yetti.

Cheers
Adrian & Henry
