Day 10 - Catalina State Park to East Tucson

Day 10 is perennially one of the riders favorite days.  We follow the amazing Tucson bike paths from the north end of the city all the way down to the southeast corner passing through many parks.  More about that later.

Our featured staff member today is Everrett, the heart and soul of the Wolfpack.  He is shown here performing one of his most important duties on the tour, he is the keeper of Henry's Yetti cooler.  No one on the tour other than Everett, Henry or Adrian are allowed to handle the Yetti.  The bloggers will continually provide updates on the handling and safe keeping of the Yetti.

Moving on from the most important topic to the bloggers daily routine.  Mornings usually find Adrian putting the finishing touches on the blog in a serene and relaxed position in his rocking chair.....

....while Henry is trying to sort through the utter devastation that has occured in his tent overnight and trying to stuff all of the junk he brought on the trip into his two overflowing duffel bags.

Here are a few pictures of the best bike trails that we ride on coast 2 coast thanks to Tucson.

Interestingly in this picture water is flowing and a testament to the wet winter and spring which may come back to haunt us.

Adrian couldn't control his irrational exuberance about the quality of the bikes trails in Tucson.

While the first 40 miles of the ride were in the amazing Tucson bikeway, the last two miles were on Tucson streets.  At one point major road construction was occurring, which required all riders to lead Bubba's truck over the single lane bridge for our personal safety.  Riders were asked to gather in front of Freddy's Steakburger fast food resturant.

Unfortunately a few of the riders felt the importance of a good meal and a few beers first and ended up partying next door to Freddy's at the Nature Bar & Grill.  For the benefit of 2018 coasters, we have already found the couple who are taking the place of Ray & Elaine and Maggie & Nate.  Introducing Rick and Amy from the Bay Area.  You will here much more about them in the coming weeks.

As we pulled into another palatial RV & Trailer Park for the evening, our suspicion was confirmed that we had a strong 17 mph + head wind most of the ride.
